‘African National Congress propose removing President’ Via UBC News

Via UBC News –  Leaders of the African National Congress of South Africa began debating a proposal to remove Jacob Zuma from the presidency. ⠀

The debate happened on Saturday in Pretoria among the 100 members of the National Executive Committee of the ANC and will resume the debate on Sunday. Only the parliament can legally force the president out of office however the NEC can instruct president Zuma to step down or instruct it’s ANC members of parliament to remove him. In 2008 the NEC requested that former president Thabo Mbeki step down which he did.
