Islamic State terrorists have prepared for their last stand on the streets around Mosul’s Grand al-Nuri Mosque

Via The War Files  –  Islamic State terrorists have littered the streets around Mosul’s Grand al-Nuri Mosque with roadblocks, reportedly in preparation for the “final showdown” in Mosul. Dozens of terrorists, spotted by civilians, took up defensive positions over the past 48 hours around the mosque, setting up machine gun nests and look out spots for snipers. The Islamic State’s black flag has been flying from the mosque since the summer of 2014, roughly three years. Major Qusay Al-Kinani, commander of the Iraqi Special Operations Forces, said the city “should be fully liberated by 10/June.” As terrorists numbers dwindle, and security forces push on, the number of civilian executions seems higher than normal. Just this morning, over twenty civilians were killed for fleeing the city. Yesterday, two suicide bombings were also carried out in Mosul by Daesh, resulting in 27 civilian casualties and 115+ injured. Around 165,000 civilians are still trapped in Mosul.
