Via The War Files – The US Navy announced the deployment of a third carrier strike group to the Western Pacific this week. The Nimitz group, Carrier Strike Group 11, will leave the Naval Base Kitsap-Bremerton this Thursday to link up with the other two CSG’s, which are also centered around the USS Carl Vinson and Ronald Reagan. The deployment is meant to “serve as a warning” to North Korea. The deployment comes as the North is reportedly preparing to conduct an additional test of a ballistic missile. The device, in all probability, has been buried in a tunnel at the Punggye-ri test site in the northeastern part of the country. “Satellite imagery indicates that all initial preparations have been completed,” according to South Korean state media.
