Canada’s Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan announces a major military overhaul of the Canadian Armed Forces


Via UBC News –  Breaking: Canada’s Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan announces a major military overhaul of the Canadian Armed Forces. 

Canada will be bringing up spending to 1.4% of the Canadian GDP. 

A “Strong at Home” plan includes improvement on Arctic presence and natural disaster response domestically. 

Sajjan also directly mentioned a “Russian threat” and the Canadian contribution in Iraq against Daesh (IS). Canada will also be replacing part of the NORAD system.
