Russian President Putin and US President Trump met for the first time, in person, today on the sidelines of the G20 summit held in Germany. The two were set to discuss various issues, namely the Syrian civil war and North Korea.
The meeting was only supposed to last 30 minutes, but they’re still conversing with each other (the meeting began over 90 minutes ago). The Russian FM, Sergey Lavrov, and his US counterpart, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, were also present at the meeting. News emerged, as Putin and Trump spoke, that Russian and US officials have agreed upon a cease fire in Syria, which is supposed to begin on 9/July around noon (GMT+3). G20 protests so far have resulted in over 160 police officers injured with over 40 arrests made.
