Analysis: A recent court ruling now allows grandparents to enter the United States from the countries listed on President Trump’s travel ban. The court originally said that a “bona fide relationship” was required for people to enter from the banned countries. This new court action has declared grandparents a “bona fide” relationship.
For Mr. Trump, this will likely come as a major setback, as he still has his travel ban- but possibly only until the Supreme Court has their bigger case later. However, for the Republicans this just seems to be yet another in a series of recent setbacks. After struggling with the healthcare bill, it is likely that the GOP will seek to overturn this ruling, hoping for a victory.
The big battle, however, should start when the Supreme Court decides whether or not to uphold the ban for good.
