Incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta has won a second term as the president of Kenya; having won 54% of the vote, according to the country’s election commission. Opposition candidate Raila Odinga claims the election was rigged, with his supporters saying they will not accept the results.
Opposition supporters had already taken to the streets before the election to protest what they believed would be corruption with the vote. According to local reports, officials and locals fear violence after this years election considering after the 2007 election, over 1,000 people were killed in violence following a loss by Odinga.
