US Navy suspends seach for missing sailors of USS John S. McCain

Today, the US Navy suspended their search at sea for the sailors who went missing when the USS John S. McCain collided with a merchant ship near Singapore on Monday.

The Navy’s 7th Fleet has identified all (10) missing, but says it’s “only confirmed the remains of one of them,” Electronics Technician 3rd Class Kenneth Aaron Smith said.

US Navy and Marine Corps divers are still searching the flooded compartments on the guided-missile destroyer, after (an unknown amount) human remains were found in one of the compartments. The Navy doesn’t expect to find the missing men alive.
