Hurricane watch issued for parts of South Florida as Irma barrels toward South Florida. Southern Florida and the Keys are under official watch, expecting winds from the storm to hit on Saturday. Over 60 counties in Florida have already been given evacuation orders in preparation
for Irma making landfall this weekend.
Irma is currently a category 5 hurricane expected to reach winds over 200 miles per hour. Irma has already caused catastrophic damage in Barbuda, leaving it practically uninhabitable. Leaving an estimated 60% of its population homeless, with little places available for shelter after the storm. 90% of the structures on this island were practically erased from the map, leaving the island of an estimated 1,700 people completely devastated.
