Typhoon Lan makes landfall in Japan

Typhoon Lan has made landfall in Japan and has already killed at least 4 people. The storm which weakened when hitting the mainland brought 321 millimeters or 12-13 inches of rain to the storm areas.

Before the storm hit, an evacuation of 80,000 residents took place in Koriyama, but luckily they did not get the widespread flooding is expected. While Lan has traveled south back into the Pacific, another Typhoon has formed off the coast of the Phillipines and is taking a similar path of Lan. The new storm may possible hit Japan in a week or more.
